How to fix front plate on a 2013 Sport using the OEM bracket?

As per the title - the neaderthals at the main dealer just drilled my front bumper and beatiful CF splitter and fixed the original numberplate with self-tappers. I actually bought the full kit from Eurospares, which includes the metal backing plate, three machine screws and three rubber bushings with a small lip on one side and a brass nut on the other.

Looking at the parts diagram, it appears the bush is just pressed in a hole in the bumper. Is my guesswork correct? Does the rubber simply hold the bush inside the bumper, stopping it from coming out and also spinning while the screw is being tightened? Or is the bush meant to go from the back?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Your guesswork is correct. The screw goes into the brass very easily so the bush doesn't spin. Then it compresses the rubber which stops it spinning and also holds it in place. It's a very simple job.

Many thanks. Something to get my teeth stuck into while I contemplate the wisdom of buying an MC Shift car with a brilliant clutch system and a **** bellhousing design…
