How to remove front timing gear?

Ok so I am making steady, if somewhat scary, progress in stripping the 3200 engine.
With cylinder heads off I am now looking to pull off the bottom end to inspect bearings, crank, thurst washers etc.
To do this you need to remove the timing gear on the front of the block which drives the timing belt. Manual shows (Fig 42 below) use of tool 9000 25540.
This tool seems to screw into an internal thread (11mm?) and get clamped to the pulley face.
I have tried several methods of gentle persusade to remove but no joy.
Has anyone found an alternative method to pull off this pulley or indeed have a spare 9000 25540 tool I could borrow :)
Many thanks

Not done it on a 3200 but I’d try a Hub/flywheel/crank damper puller, pushing against the bolt that holds the front pulley on

They are a twatt to get off, puller and loads of heat.

Shove the block in the car and run it down, Ash will do it for you.

A good puller and heat on the pulley, mate of mine used a heat gun and lot of patience.

ok so answer was to get a mate with a lathe to make an extractor tool. With the right kit and a lucky find of the right size lump of scrap metal it took 15 mins :)
Surprisingly timing pulley then can off without too much of a fight and no need to heat up and set fire to the garage. Tool now freely available to other forum memebers who are lucky enough to go down this road !!!

Now have hundreds of bits of engine around the garage and no large chunks left to pull apart - just need to sort into scrap or components for rebuild.
Interestingly on first impression no visible damage on bottom end due to valve/piston impact - I am more concerned with the impact of worn thrust bearings !!!!

yep heads ok but all valves history - if I could weld they would make a nice ornate table lamp to go on the engine block coffee table :)
