It is this actual car

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=24314.htm

I bought it on Saturday and drove back through Belgium to Calais, it was a great drive home. I have never driven a large capacity car, my others have always been 2 litre turbo charged engines, so nothing down low as the power is all top, but this pulls from 30mph in 4th gear, try that in a Cup ! It is not the fastest car in the world 0-60 anywhere between 4.5 and 5 secs, but the noise gives the impresson you are going everywhere at 100mph.

Yes it has leather seats and air con but it is essentially a racing car. No rubber in the suspension, straight cut gear noise and an exhaust that barks at you when you change down.

Oh and it is wide - 2.03cm at the rear, the rear boot lid slopes upwards from the rear screen which makes any sort of reversing guess work. You sit very low in the car and side windows are small and high, combined with mirrors that block your view at junctions, add in a racing harness so you can't move around to increase visibility !

it is not very practicle, harsh, noisey, no luggage space, 2 seats when there are 3 of us, but it is wonderful to drive !

It needs a good clean but will hopefully get some more meaningful pictures this weekend.

I would be surprised if there were that many made - mine is number 10.

Has it been for sale for that long, yes and no.
I bought it from a car dealer, but the car was the owners personal car, but this was in the loosest sense of the word. It appeared that he bought it from Germany but i am not sure whether he ever owned it or the garage owned it. So yes it was always for sale at the right price, but until recently he appeared in no rush to sell it, obvioulsy if he can make a profit by selling it he would. He did say that he he has just bought a Tesla, but again this was in the corner of the showroom, so is it his or the company's ?

The appeal other than its unusualness and noise, was BMW engine and electrics so it wont breakdown and Aluminium / Carbonfibre / Fibreglass constructuion so it shouldn't rust. It comes with the original wheels, but i will leave the BBS ones on as the gold adds a bit more colour to it and they can be repiared / replaced. I know you could fit them to any car, but the racing harness, centre lock wheels and funny wing mirrors give it a sex appeal that other cars dont have, ohh and pop up headlights.

There is a man in German who has all the body moulds so i can get bumpers and the like should i need, but i would hate to ask what he charges !.

They did say 50 made, but most clubs think about 40 actually, so no: 10 is one to cherish, I assume it is a keeper..??

Pictures !

Not the best quality but you get the gist, i have removed the BMW engine cover to clean but it appears to be a pig to put back on.

That silencer looks a bit big and I bet it gives a lot of heat out too. I would be tempted to get something smaller and perhaps let it breath a bit better.
