I just upgraded from a 4.2 to a 4.7 Auto S (with sports pack) - nice!

Wow! What a car!

Thanks for all the advice on here and in particular to Richard Grace who had the time and patience to talk to me, even when I was on holiday, about my potential new purchase. What a excellent fellow he is. Seriously.

Also thanks to bigbob on here - his comments, in particular on the Sports Pack on the 4.7 Auto S, have been spot on and turned out to be just what I need.

What a different car this one is to my previous car though, probably because it is 3 years newer admittedly, but it is SO much smoother, faster, seemingly more agile, with way better brakes and yet just as nice to drive (well even nicer) - even Mrs Dandruff has said how much nicer it is and she just drives it like any other car. And I was pleased with the 4.2!

Again thanks for all the advice, especially Mr Grace and bigbob.

:luvit:

I can't wait to pick mine up next week after our holiday. What does the spirt pack add?

Well bigbob is the expert on this but it adds:

'a tweaked exhaust system which keeps the trick bypass valves fully open when you select the Sport mode.

Faster MC Auto Shift software for the transmission, styling upgrades: grey (or to be precise, Grigio Mercury Neptune-design) wheels, oval exhaust finishers, a little spoiler integrated into the boot lid, black-look headlights, black mesh side grilles, a black grille with a red-accents Trident logo, plus side skirts and new front winglets.'

All essential really! ;-)

Yep, basically it adds the GTS body kit to a GTS Auto (including oval exhaust tips) and, as said, faster gear changes in sport and removes the 3000 revs floor limit before the exhaust valves open in sport. For what it's worth the Red Esse pack offered the body kit upgrades but sometime in late 2010/early 2011 they rolled this up into the Sport pack by offering the exhaust/gearbox changes as well.

Also for the real spotters the 'S' logo on the glovebox goes from chrome to red!

It's also not clear as Maserati introduced changes intra model year like with the boot floor and front centre armrest. Not material mind!

Really? Retrofit?

I was under the impression that is changed the weight distribution of the car as well? But I read this on a review website so I maybe wrong.
