I'm a Maser owner no more...

Dear All,

Bad news I'm afraid. After 2 years of deliriously happy Maser ownership I've had to defect to the Germans. A certain car manufacturer is my largest current client and certain contacts felt it inappropriate that I turned up at their factory in something other than their product.

I assure you all this is a temporary matter that will be resolved and I will be piloting a trident once again soon. For now then I've got 500 BHP and a motor that sounds like Tom Jones gargling wasps (as someone once said). The difference in engine sound and power delivery couldn't be more extreme. The Maser is pure F1 in terms of it's sound and power delivery whilst sadly, my xxx is more NASCAR...

Gino's new owner has just registered on "the other side" so I've sent my congratulations and politely suggested he may also wish to register here. I'm sure you'll all give him a warm welcome.

As for me I do plan to stick around and offer my opinion where appropriate from time to time. I've never been a member of such a friendly and informative forum before and at least here I can get my Maser fix vicariously until I have the chance to own one again.

Cheers,

Stu

Ok Stu, we understand.

All the best fella, and what will you go for when you return Maserati?.....coupe, GT or QP?

Thanks a lot, Loz. I'm gutted myself in many ways. The car sailed through the service at 41,000 miles without so much as an advisory so the new owner has a truly reliable car for a great price. I'm sure he'll cherish it the way I did.

I'd love to come to a meet if there's ever one on when I'm in the UK. I'll keep following the forum for sure and see if I'm ever in the right place at the right time.

Thanks a lot, mate. Paddles? Me? Hmm, I don't know how many manuals there'll be left when I next have a Maser but I did always like the analogue of driving a manual boxed tied to that glorious engine. Of course if I want to upgrade to GS, QP or even GT then I won't have a choice about flapping my paddles

Hi Matt, Good question. A GT would be my dream, or actually a Grancab if I'm honest but that would require some herculean improvements in my finances. If practicality finally catches up with me than a later QP would be wonderful but even a 2006-7 GS would be fine. Right, now I'm starting to drool so I'd better stop writing...

I was sad to see Gino (with that voice he had to be a bloke) go. It was the most reliable car I ever owned, something not many would expect to hear about a Maser.

Hey Myles, I'm sure to be back with a Maser one day, there's no car that delivers more for the money.

Hi Adam, I'm now the owner of an SL55 AMG. It's got awesome power and is frankly a more comfortable place to sit on long journeys but as an overall experience it's vanilla compared to the naga chili of a Maser.

Just remember Stu , its better to have loved and lost , than to never have loved at all ...............................................least you been there once in a lifetime, and that counts for a lot mate
