New boy alert. I absolutely adore my GranTurismo S MC-shift. Still haven't used the expensive Bose 'cos why would you want to listen to anything else once that Sport button is pressed?

Been on a few forums for different interests and discovered this by accident whilst finding out about Navtrak. Looking forward to spending some time with other Masaddicts.

Sorry if the pics are a bit big. Can't get them to shrink!

Thanks for having me on this great forum!

Thank you both. Colour combo wasn't my first choice (done all that 'Silver Arrow' stuff with Mercedes) but this one will keep me company whilst I wait on a 1st March order. Have to say, the colour looks amazing in the flesh. - way better than the photos. Almost changes colour in sunlight. Has a glow to it.

Been talking about getting a GT-S for so long and I woke up one day and thought "what am I waiting for?"

I had the same silver / red combo on my GTS but with grey wheels. Loved that car but sold it after a bad winter 4 years ago when it was undriveable and it was my only car. The noise when changing down gears is amazing.

Fingers crossed we don't have a similar bad winter. I'm currently using the car to the station every day. A gorgeous 10 mile blast down dual carriageway with lots of roundabouts plus a bit of twisty. All done at 5.30am with few cars on the road. If we have another bad winter I'll have to get the Discovery back in the road as I probably won't be able to get the Maser off the steep drive!!

Thanks all for your comments. Made me feel very welcome! I'm slowly finding my way around the forum and looking out for events although I guess it's the wrong time of year for those.

I'm accessing the forum mostly on an iPhone and an iPad. Doees anyone know how to get rid of the repeated pop-up prompts to buy the App when I try to connect on Safari? I believe the App is only available in the States but if anyone knows differently..........

Andyk, I see you're currently driving a BMW6. When I test drove loads of cars before settling on the Maserati I drove a new BMW 645i Gran Coupe. What an amazing car - very responsive and impressive electronic gadgetry. Always thought I'd end up with the Maser though - it was love at first change down - That said, I didn't bank on my wife's comment having test driven them all herself too. She came to the conclusion I'd kill myself in the BMW but not in the Maserati!! Go figure!

What a lovely car, Jon. I fully agree re the other comments regarding the red and silver. Works a treat.

You might need to think about using a battery conditioner - CTEK 5 or similar. The battery takes quite a pounding and needs a good 20 minute run to regain charge lost from starting.

What's the 1st March order you refer to?

I bet you're popular with the neighbours and on route to the station at 5:30am! ;-)

I'm interested in the solution to the pop ups too, I tried tap talk and it was ****, suffered the pop ups ever since, even though I deleted it...

AdamN, Thanks for the tip on the battery - I did wonder why the previous owner had a trickle charger fitted in the boot! I'll check out CTEK 5

I could always drive a long way home!!

I'm ordering another GT-S MC Shift for 1st March plate (there's a four month wait to build apparently and no-one wants a Feb delivery). Unless I change my mind on spec in the next few weeks I'm going for Rosso Mondiale, Nero interior (with red stitching and tridents, obviously!) plus all the toys.

I'm hearing rumours that they are discontinuing the GT at the end of next year - anyone know the truth on that?

Congrats... great car Silver /Red always looks a treat.... If you need help with the Disco - and are in the south east I have a very good independent who keeps mine on the road... We've had no problems with ours after about 100k miles.. but he has a customer thats done 400k on the same engine and transmission.. lots of those done towing too..Let me know if you need a number..

Good luck with the new order... sounds fantastic... I'm a big fan of Red ones.. and I think there was a thread on here a little while ago about the various shades... Personally I think the Rosso Fuoco looks fantastic ... but not everyones cup of tea..

Right now Fangio63 I can't do anything with the Disco3 'cos I'm in the process or suing LandRover (unless they come to the table **** quick) due to a fatigue failure on a cam belt tensioner that I have had metallurgically analysed. Without doubt a manufacturing defect causing a catastrophic failure (as you might expect). Not an uncommon failure either as a search on the internet found - they know it's a problem but are sticking their heads in the sand at the moment. As soon as I get the green light and can rebuild I might be in touch with you for that contact - thanks for the offer!
