Not the perfect solution for purists, but found a device that allows plug and play audio streaming via Bluetooth without having to have iPhone in glove box.

Both my cars have iPhone leads to connect to the stereo, but was frustrating the Maserati was in glove box, not especially practical. Read about this device on another forum so thought I would give it a try.
Easy to use, plug in, pair via Bluetooth, and now each time I get in car it does so automatically. All artist/song titles come up as usual.
