I think you’ve answered your own question.

Never tried, but I imagine the Swedish marques have flame throwing heaters?

My Mum had an Alfa Spider and complained about the heater. Apparently it was directed mainly to the drivers side for LHD and they didn’t change it for RHD.

The one in my Barchetta is fantastic, I assume it's because it's a spyder and Fiat expected the car to be driven on cold clear days with the roof down??..... Mercedes had a good idea with the 'Air Scarf'...

Giulietta used to be fine. When was your pollen filter last changed? Rubbish airflow or just no heat?

I think the heaters in all the Italian cars I've had have been pretty good, I'll update this once the current one actually works.....

Well as promised, collected the car on Friday and the heater now works and is actually quite good, obviously only tested when relatively warm weather so opinion may change when freezing with the roof down!

Pretty decent in the 4200. Had the AC regassed last year and I was surprised at how much colder it got

The Alfa 33P4 I had, had virtually no heat from the heater.
Could never resolve why.
The a/c was icy in comparison however.

The heat is strange in mine. Sometimes lots of heat soak, other times the rear window mists (on a dry day). AC seems to work fine, but anything in between has a mind of its own.

I find they blow hot and cold but normally related to airflow once you get it moving they seem fine, clearing vents, checking ducts and clearing obstructions works great on older cars

Mine definitely has a mind of it own - and it's something I need Ash & Mat to check out at some stage. But certainly poor compared to the S2000 (both cars driven with roof down as long as it's not raining)
