Does indeed make you wonder. Not sure if the newer one is better value or the older one less better value or somewhere in between. You would have to be tempted by the new model though surely. Bigger car with better space in the back and boot too.

In fact the newer car is circa 100kg lighter I think regardless of being much bigger.

The VI is a fine car, just nowhere near as desirable as the V.
Logically, and on paper, the newer one is better, but that matters little when in comes to the ‘want’ factor. Back seat and boot space are not a factor.
This applies to many cars that appeal to the shrinking minority that are ‘car enthusiasts’, with 95% of the population totally bemused as to why people pay so much for an old, expensive to run car with no modern gadgets. Why would you not buy a newer car? It pointless trying to explain why, whooshes straight over their heads.
