I will have had my car for 2 years in April, in which time I have basically been putting right things which were not quite right when I bought it.

I have two more -
1. The steering wheel blistering seems to have got bad over winter
2. Need to strip the clutch and housing - It had a new clutch when I bought it and some bearings where replaced - but like the main dealer servicing - not very well. There may be a problem with the release bearing as the noise disappears when the clutch is depressed ( not as in depressed when paying for parts :sad3:). It's not so bad to do immediately I will wait till nice weather and see if I can borrow a ramp.

I will update with photos when the fun begins.

Hi 348, am almost certain theres a thread on how to DIY a SW repair, and I know we are intent on exploring a relining the clutch plates over the next few weeks, to take the sting out of that cost!

Plus they recommend changing a few other bits and pieces when your in there, its a 10 hr job plus you need the SD2 reader to set it up, worthwhile pricing around when you need work done!!

Don't get too excited yet about replacing the clutch.....could the noise be the (engine speed) prop shaft ie the noise stops when the clutch is depressed and changes when the engine speed increases (clutch engaged) ? Mine is a bit grumbly, there is a previous thread on the drive shaft check this out before chucking loads of money at it.
