Think this looks really good. Govts have totally failed in their commitment to any sort of ’energy’ revolution but this makes more sense; smaller, lighter and not a blatant exploitation of ludicrous…!
If the French can produce this whilst sourcing everything within 300 kms of the manufacturing plant, as they claim,I am impressed. Tesla didn’t turn a profit until they started to manufacture in China ! Renault will need to be on their game if they hope to succeed as a legacy manufacturer in a Chinese dominated EV world.
Help. I like an electric vehicle. Tres hip!

Also saw some stuff on this and share your point of view.
On top, it seems very reasonably priced (someone compared it to the older generations and the new one isn't so far off if you take inflation into account).
And then to top it off, bring born early in the 80s, the references to the old generation really work for me...

The hotter version of this, Alpine a290, which is due for summer could be very exciting too...

Can you do that or does the technology stop you ?
Lot to be said about having a lever you can pull with a cable at the end of it , Even the Bentley has an electronic handbrake you cant engage whilst the car is moving , Alas 4200/and gransport handbrakes were always shite at the best of times even from new

In all seriousness, electric cars are proving to be a real problem for guide dogs, something needs to be done, on the other hand when we are blasting around Exmoor in our V8's and V12's and the ramblers stand there with their fingers in their ears, it's quite a good retort 'Well madam, would you rather we drove around in silent electric cars, because you wouldn't know to get out of the way until you were underneath our cars, at least you can hear us now, and know it would be prudent to move' :lol2:
My uncle is an insurance specialist for guide dogs for the blind. I don’t know how much of an issue this was until he described all the crazy cases to me.

Since 2018 all EVs and Hybrid have to have a noise emitter that makes a noise below 30mph, above that the tyre noise is enough.

One thing many don't realise about hire car companies is I understand most of their revenues/profit comes from buying/selling cars than car hire.

So they buy new vehicles direct from the manufacturer at say 50% discount to list. Run them for a year say and gure as much as they can. Then sell at a profit. So the more they buy and sell the better.

Feels like Hertz was another huge scam with many questions when they went pop. Allegedly absolved and wrote off all their huge debts, wiped out most shareholder's , a new co was setup to transfer assets to also to buy the name/brand to continue as if nothing happened. Just that many ended up losing billions. Same old same old.

Exactly their system, having the equity or abilty to borrow vast sums and buy in bulk at huge discounts , they effectively dont have to hire a single vehicle , most companies have to keep them 6 months I believe before they can be resold

I worked for Europecar PT for a number of years and they don't buy all of their stock.

They also lease them with a agreement to return them at a set milage, and in turn those cars go back onto the MD forecourt as one owner and 12k miles etc.
