So what you are saying is that the electric cars which were being made by Tesla are now being made by another company? So a bump in the road for Tesla, but hardly the death knell for electric cars.
This is not helping my brain with its Model S performance or e class bi turbo v6 discussions!!!

Yes. In fact, for those who like to inform their opinions with facts:

I watched something the other day that said no one in China drives a Tesla because they are seen as ‘poor man’s ev and boring’

They are all into their bling and gadgets and Tesla are too plain.

Possibly also because their government told them this is what they think.

BYD (Chinese brand of EV’s) has overtaken Tesla as the biggest supplier. Tesla has the problem of boring and aging designs, with nothing new coming to tempt buyers. China is bringing in new models and at lower prices, so sells more. So as usual, it’s not rocket science, it’s just common sense business principles.
We‘ll all be seeing a lot more electric BYD and MG vehicles in the U.K. over the next few years.

It may have changed but last time I was in Oslo Teslas were allowed to park free anywhere in the city, use the bus lanes (especially useful on the highway queue from the south) as well as spectacular tax bribery. I think a Tesla S 100 was about the same as a BMW 320. So no surprise wht EV adoption is high. Sweden is mostly large conurbations which everyone flies between so cars used mostly locally and I am sure the whole of Belgium can be circumnavigated on a single charge.....

Also, there are some residential areas where for years it has not been allowed to own/park an ICE.

Ironic, innit, all that oil money.

Seems a bit of a PR debacle, not sure on the choice Junior as although it has been an Alfa constant across the years it has always been the smallest version within a model range, i.e. Giulia Junior, 145 Junior etc. rather than a specific model itself.

Will we see another name change prior to actual launch?

The natural extension of this reasonable argument is that our relationship with car ownership will need to change. I know a number of people who use the likes of Zipcar to get access to a car only when they need it. Otherwise they use public transport.

This is the obvious solution to both the cost of and the sheer number of cars in the city.
Makes sense to me. Personally I'm not sharing but huge numbers of young people now are not interested in cars and use public transport or Uber for a treat. I'm not even sure if they see car clubs as necessary.

Back in the day I used to drive to work in the City and park in the West End on a Sunday for free and have a wander. All changed now.

Well this is the Future but I'm still pushing for saving what we have and look after it well.
I'm wondering if they will sell anything rather than be EV only by 2028? They can keep Maserati in the deep freeze for years with good PR, limited edition models and badge engineered platform sharing. Does this give anyone on the forum anything new to buy though?

Yep, German car manufacturing is going to take a serious kicking over the next decade. The cars are too expensive and quality/tech is iffy. White/Brown goods are all from the Far East and commodity cars will be too. Nothing low end (<£50k) will stay in Germany.

Young kids in the city, Dublin in my case, see no need for a car on a regular basis. Public transport in the week and then gocar or similar if they need to get out at weekend. However in the sticks, my daughter who has no interest in cars wants to learn to drive as soon as she can so that she can be independent of our free taxi service (although I suspect we will still need to fund said car)
