Karting Kock-up.

I'm sorry to have to report there has been a last minute kock-up with the karting reservation that, to be brief, means we have 19 karters, but reservations for only 15.

To cut a long day filled with increasingly frustrating phone calls short, my final reservation was not passed from Karting Nation (who are effectively a booking agent) to Reading Karting centre, who in the meantime have filled the last places in our scheduled event.

They are not now able to honour their commitment to me that my booking would remain open pending final confirmation of numbers.

Karting Nation were left in no doubt as to my feelings on the subject!

So....

Linda and I will relinquish our places, which takes care of two.

When we get to Reading I will try (again) to see whether we can just have a couple of teams of three to take care of the other two places. If this is acceptable to them, and given the circumstances I can see no reason why it shouldn't be, I will of course reimburse those not getting as much karting time as they should be.

Sadly the worse case scenario may be that two other karters will have to relinquish their places. If this happens, they will of course be refunded.

Gents (and Ladies), I'm really sorry about this. It shouldn't have happened and I'm still seething that it has, but I seem to have run out of options with Karting Nation.

Regards, Miles.

Andrea, I am right there with you on the Decaf. I struggled for a decade with stomach problems, mainly evening and weekends, the cramps were excruciating. About a year ago, whilst in London doing the sights with the family, I had my first ever migraine, something I dont ever want to go through again. Upon seeking advice was told to give up chocolate and caffeine. I did this and never had another migraine since, and also, by stomach problems disappeared over night.

It turned out that where I was pumping 8 or 9 cups of coffee down me at work, but not at home, my stomach complaint was due to withdrawal effects from caffeine.

The stuff cannot be underestimated!

Matt I have not given up coffee yet but after the report in the Times yesterday about the wonders of Asprin I have started to take 70mg tablet each day..............something you should consider at your age :tomato9:

thats funny Dem , when I was in hospital in melaka they would only give me MILO to drink , could'nt wait to get out and get a cup of coffee. the hotel would'nt give me any . not in the room ,coffee shop or any of the restaurants. I went back to the hospital and got a letter from the doc saying it was ok for me to drink coffee before any of the hotel staff would serve me.
the doc told me ,when I asked why I could'nt drink it , that the caffine accelerates the heart rate. i pointed out that I had been his guest for 3 days with nothing to do but look at a heart moniter which showed that my resting rate was 48/min raising to a heady 51 if one of the cute nurses came into the room, thats when he wrote the letter.
