On the face of it, it looks ok. The wing will repair as will the door, new front bumper (£300) new headlight (£200) and paint the whole car for £1500, so £2k.

Is the car categorised cat C or D? That will have a massive bearing on the price of it.

If the rest of the car is good, I would put in a cheeky offer of £5,500 and pay no more than £6k.

I think you would have to budget more for parts. A new front bumper is not 300 pounds but 1300 pounds incl. VAT (a used one is very, very hard to find) and from the pictures it looks like you may also need a new intercooler (350), an intercooler deflector (50) and perhaps an undertray/shield (200). So, 2,000 for parts alone plus a couple of hours for fitting the parts, some body repair work and finally some paintwork. I would say close to 4,000 in total.

we have many people here in the UK that break these now so parts are not that bad....

Cars that are broken are usually accidented cars and -as such- they are likely to have damaged front bumpers (I'd say 19 out of 20). With a new price of 1,300, an undamaged used front bumper will cost 600 (if you can find one at all)

Going to have a look at tomorrow. typical salvage sale no paperwork and only 1 key. Have read that red key a must have. will this be a huge problem?
Taking neighbour with me who repairs cat d cars in his spare time though not worked on exotica like a mas but will be able to identify all damage and list parts.

One other thing to consider given the 60,000 plus mileage. I am no expert but I can tell you that the biggest service for this model is at 68,500 miles when the camshaft timing chains are replaced and cam timing is adjusted resulting in a twenty hour service. This could amount to a tidy sum.

Regards,

Paul

Matt I think that a bit optomistic to expect a decent paint job for £1500.............windows out rear and front screen out etc etc

Urby, it would be a blow over the whole car and not glass out for that price. I have just had the same thing done to my Alfa for £1500, including underside of bonnet, slam panel, both bumpers off and all the other bits.

My parts prices are based upon salvage items for someone like David Askew.

You would need to build in a £1k contingency into that.

4200 Bumper at £300 on ebay at the moment:

The chains at 68k only need doing if they are making a noise, sure it needs a service at 68k but this is not the 24hour job as can be done with engine in situ at Emblem. Red keys are not an issue unless you lose all your keys or the ecu packs up, if the ecu packs up then a set of new keys is cheap compared to the cost of the ecu. I know a place that can copy the code from the ecu to new keys if required, thus creating a new "red key".
