Urby, it would be a blow over the whole car and not glass out for that price. I have just had the same thing done to my Alfa for £1500, including underside of bonnet, slam panel, both bumpers off and all the other bits.

My parts prices are based upon salvage items for someone like David Askew.

You would need to build in a £1k contingency into that.

4200 Bumper at £300 on ebay at the moment:

Matt I bow to your superior knowledge..........how about a bare metal respray

Yes we saw this when it was in the salvage yard auction, an easy fix maybe but factor in the grief factor and I reckon this guy probably paid the right amount for it in the first place, 5k ish? Easy enough to buy a nice 68k miler with history and no Cat D for under 10k so this isn't a bargain. Of course if you had the history and found it had a lot of it and recent exhausts, brakes, wishbones etc it might sway the buyer - "might"....

There is a 100k 3200 for sale with full history for 8200....So you could probably get it for 7500..Think I would prefer that one...

I called the guy yesterday to have a word with him and he will not go any lower than 6.5K. It's an insurance car and needs new front bumper, wing repaired, new windscreen, new door (ns) and he reckons a full respray. The car is a CAT C and is on the VIC register but you will need to call DVLA as it's not updated on the website at the moment. All in all the guy sounded very genuine. He could not tell me anything about the history in terms of camchain, Pads, Discs and other service information.

No way for 6.5K is it worth it imo. I am looking for the right car and I can get a decent car for about 10K. Look on pistonheads and there is a similar mileage Grigio car for 10.6K.

A CAT C will take about 30-40% of the value off when you come to sell so you need to be paying 30-40% less without the repair bill in the first place, it's 5K to put right part,s labour and service as I would not buy it without doing the camchains immediately.

Doesn't seem a good way to go Contigo for this car.....a member off here has repaired cat D cars...minimal damage........only.....did a lot of research and used lots of well known contacts.

to get a good 3200 i would pay more than 10k, id say the bad ones are 10k and under and average about 11 - 14k, good ones are over 15k......
