Interestingly, just tested the ping and traceroute Matt - getting consistent ~20ms pings, but the traceroute fails after 8 hops, once it gets to the boundary of your network. Is your FW dropping packets to prevent traceroute completing?

Yep, so is mine,
I did the steps catman suggested and got all sorts of gobbledegook, but the upshot was it was timing out!

Timing out isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you tried to traceroute/tracert to my servers, you'll find the same thing happens. It depends where in the chain the timeout occurs.
