Looking at buying a GranTurismo how do you tell the difference between auto and MC?

Is as bob says the dash reflection will drive you mad all year round. That interior is pretty much the same as every single one I have seen on GTs for sale in the Middle East (Qatar and UAE). It's an acquired taste and the car would have to have a significant discount to a say Nero interior and as Stuart says could take an age to sell.

It really is personal preference.

My 4.2 had red leather interior (as had my previous car) which I loved, but it didn't have a red steering wheel, dash etc etc, which I personally think is hideous and over the top.

The 4.2 with a GTS 4.7 exhaust sounds the best in my oppinion....I have had both the 4.2 and 4.7 cars.....with the 4.2 GT I took off the standard exhaust and bolted on the 4.7's standard exhaust leaving the valves open all the time- the sound was musical:)

Interior is personal preference.... I loved my nero/avorio(black with cream interior ) but now I have a half red/half black alcantara and it's growing on me:)

Very interesting re: changing the 4.2 stock exhaust for 4.7 OEM.

Getting a Larini x-pipe installed on my 4.2. May go a step further if needs be.

Basically my 4.2 with the 4.7 exhaust had more crackles and popping on downshifting than my 4.7 and 4.7 MC

Would not replacing the back boxes for a straight through pair not be a cheap option to get the effect?

Agreed, it's basically the same thing. When the 4.7 rear boxes have the valves opened, they're pretty much straight through anyway

How did you find the difference between the 4.2 and 4.7 was it a very noticeable power difference and anything else different ?

I still might consider a 4.2 I have noticed a few 4.2 cars selling around the £30k mark but not seen any 4.7 cars sell recently in the low 40's £

I have spotted a nice 4.7 Auto with only 22k miles for £44k still a bit high but maybe worth asking about .....
