looking for hope

I have a bit of a smell of coolant in the cabin which has been building up for a little while. There is no water in the foot wells or any damp around the dash. I am thinking the heater core is leaking. Its 21 years old and it's probably the original so its seems likely. Any one got any hopeful thoughts on what else it might be? I have not done the pollen filter recently and was planning to replace that this summer as part of a major service including the timing belt.

Get the cooling system pressure tested to see if the pressure drops then have a good look to see where you have coolant leaking.
