good yes, but the experiences of a couple of friends with reliability and parts supply hasn't been great. Appears they're holding very little spares in the factory at the moment; odd as it's not just on the market.

Have now convinced myself the next car is either a new ginetta or an S1 exige.

I'm not a fan of the Evora, but I quite like that one.
But for £70k there's a lot of choice on the market that I'd spend my money on before I bought that.

S1's are the way forward :D

Honda'd S1 exige, in dayglo orange mmmmm could even be tempted by a VHPD so long as it spent time with uncle dave andrews for a while first.

Evora is a nice car, apart from the reliability - but i felt even the S would need some new suspension before I'd have been happy with it. Wasn't prepared be a development mule and spend another 10 k on upgrading a new 70k car that SHOULD have had the suspension sorted already.

Hmm, I've worshiped the Honda conversion for some years now but having now driven a few I'm edging toward the 2.3Duratec conversion instead. I'm just not fond of the pier delivery of the Honda, it's like turbo lag. That said, I'm yet to drive a duratec....

Evora is an amazing achievement, great looks and handling. I love the Evora S, pricey at around 70k but i know i would choose it over a new 991 Carrera. 911's bore me now apart from the Turbo and GT3.

Love that special edition, i know what the colour scheme of my 2 Eleven and Evora will be on Forza 4.

Had a S1 Exige...Loved it.....Would I Honda it...Not now as they are becoming very a rare, desirable, collectable car and original will always be the one people want.........Am loving the new Ginetta, wouod love to drive one. Should be a great toy....

How much BHP does the Honda conversion give? i take it that you supercharge that engine too???

The Ginetta G40 looks brilliant, 40k is not a bad price either.

220bhp as a normally aspirated and around 300bhp supercharged, same as the Ariel Atom give or take. It's reckoned the 220bhp car is just about perfect to drive fast without scaring yourself silly, an Elise really doesn't need 300bhp, though it would be fun :)

Audi turbo is the other way to go, anything from 300bhp to 450bhp+. Much torquier.

Yes i have seen some people put Audi S3/TT engines in them, to be honest, i would rather keep the K series, not really a massive fan of tuning.

Not sure actually - the hassle with the VHPD might mean a well converted car is the one collectors will go for. Personally I prefer the VHPD as a track tool but for road use, and knowing it will start most days, would push me in the direction of the honda.

Ginetta is great fun, I got to drive a G40 around the paddock at Silverstone; not as well put together as a new elise but the handling was the equal of an S1.

Used my VHPD Exige everyday come rain or shine....and yes not ideal but just couldn't leave it in the garage...

Our very own Robin (gtr racing) has a ginetta that they race , maybe we could get him to do another meet when they are next testing at Silverstone
