Sorry to keep spamming this thread, but I've decided I'm just going to take the plunge and get an X pipe.. can anyone recommend where I can get one from, without paying to much? Is there a specific brand which sounds much better?

PM BennyD or Sparticus has a slightly used one that belongs to BennyD in his garage he may be willing to sell?

As far as I'm aware the forum xpipe doesn't fit the Granturismo. I got mine from Autoshield in Manchester. A local garage sent the original to them and they made it specifically to fit. I dare say any decent exhaust place should be able to do it.

There's a few of us going to Cars in the Park on Sunday if you're at a loose end.

You'll need to get a ticket.

Sparticarse mate, I only do 4200 and GS X and H-pipes. Marios does them for the GTs.

If you really need it you can have it back , would nt mind keeping hold of it for a bit though . My car will probably go up for sale in the new year .........or possible after Le Man s..form an orderly queue ;P

Why not follow beaus example and just hack off the muffler bit of the existing xpipe section and replace with bits of straight pipes? Makes me wonder why no one else has done this. Josh had to cut mine out as it was seized and I asked him to weld the old one back together just in case I ever wanted to refit (as if)!

Well it's generally regarded as a good idea to have a link between the two banks of a V8 as you always get a pair of sequential firing pulses from each bank.

The join (x or h) lets these even out. Beau's will burble much more as there is no balancing between his pulses (ooooer). If it has any measureable impact on anything else is a moot point.

My X pipe should have been despatched by Marios today hopefully, getting fitted a week tomorrow.

Never modded a car in my life but im hoping this brings back the glorious sound that seems to have packed it's bags and ****** off from my car.

Beau's still has the original X section remember so there is mixing of pulses. An H is more like a straight through as the balance pipes does less mixing at higher revs.

X Pipe has arrived this morning, is it difficult to fit? One man job? Or should I send to my local?

On a lift it's a one man job. I would pay your local village garage to do it and pack rags round the exhaust tips to avoid scratching up the bumper.
