Hi,

I've taken my shockers to the garage this morning for the Lower shocker bushes replaced. What is the best way they can remove and resit the new ones without damaging the shaft? They're saying the bush is too close to the edge to press out?

It's a 2009 with the adjustable shockers btw

If memory serves me right, there is a special Maserati tool for replacing bushings and sit them right. Your mechanic may need to call around to get someone to loan them.

However, others here may know better than I do so I’d see what more knowledgeable members have to say.

done mine in a vice using two sockets one a slightly smaller external size than the bush to push the bush the other larger socket to support the shock absorber. Only took a minute.

Just make sure the replacement bushes are the same type of bush. I fitted the Superformance bonded rubber bush and they sagged, causing the bottom of the damper to rub on the lower suspension arm. Fitted new standard bushes and all good.

Nah the right size socket in a press and I will come, tap the bottom of the shock with a hammer when refitting to make sure it goes in square.
