Well the car is booked in for it's 4th year service at JCT600 Leeds
Guess how much?
£2400, why?
"Oh we have to change the Lambda sensors sir"
Jesus that is the most expensive service I have ever heard of.
It will be going to an indy next time for sure

My friend has the same with his Porsche when he extends the warranty.
They insist on minimum thickness of brake discs, match depth of tyre tread across axles etc.

Warranty isn't honoured if they don't change them:unsure:
Fuel can breathers as well. It's the scheduled service interval for both. If you have the warranty you have to pay. Don't see a problem myself, if you don't want to used a MD for the year 4 service then don't extend the warranty at the end of year 3.

Don't understand your logic. They are purely following the manufacturer's scheduled service regime and ensuring that a client's car does not void it's warranty. Why criticise them for that?

I was only questioning the cost.
My car is not under warranty with them and no criticism was intended
I am thinking along the lines of a cheaper deal from an independent

Independents' should be cheaper most of the time but for cars that are still relatively new I feel that a MD history adds more than it takes away in the round. A lot of people do feel that the Maserati service intervals on some parts are too frequent but not having a MD service at year 4 probably takes away more on value than it saves going to an independent and possibly passing on some parts replacement. For years 6 and 8 it is different mind! All academic if you have the extended warranty like I do....

IS your car set for a service every two years years or yearly....I seem to remember reading that if its set at every two years it was around 2k a pop...

Agree on the latter. My 4200 was on originals when I sold it at just under 50k miles.

If do you no more than 12.5k miles every two years then the GranTurismo is on two year service intervals with the costs roughly £1.5k, £2.5k, £1.5k and then £2.5k for 2, 4, 6 and 8 years. Cheaper if you go to an independent once your warranty is expired. Obviously some of this saving will come from assessing parts for replacement rather than just changing them as the manufacturer's schedule recommends.

How long can you extend the warranty and what are the costs and process? Mine is 4 years old next month but had the 4 year service done when I bought it in January so I am good on servicing until Jan 16 (although i might do in between oil service). Warranty will be up in Jan 15.

It's much cheaper pa to get years 4&5 together. IIRC this is about £2500 and one year is about £1500.

That price has some room for negotiation. Check the price from Nottingham and go back to the guys at Leeds to see how close to that they can get (I reckon there is £500 to come off)
