Just back from Turin.

I know the small car rules in Italy but not a single masa spotted.

All we saw was one black 430 and a yellow 360.

More than the usual number of Fiats for obvious reaons and loads of alphas.

Happened to be there would you believe on the weekend the pope decided to visit - saw him 10 feet away in his pope mobile.

wish we were still there ...

:excellent:

You never see many Maserati's in Italy...as per previous threads Italians worry about being kidknapped or taken hostage if they are seen to have money.

Excuse me.................seen 4 over the last few months...in my 56K population county.....;)..!!!

Plus only a few dozen here in NI, so quite a reasonable strike rate!

andyk is right - I've heard that.

cars very ordinary to be honest - excluding the alfas.

same in all the other italian cities save milan where I have seen a few.

tell you what though - I wouldnt want to be trying to park the GTS in turin - would be almost impossible to get into a space - I'd be paranoid about kerbing the wheels - which would happen.

plus turning in some of the side streets would be near impossible.

I know what you mean..I've driven in Turin and Milan and trying to park is a nightmare...I remembers pulling up a some red traffic lights in Milan and some Italian in a Fiat just went around me a speed and staright across the oncoming traffic.....It was like I was in the wrong for stopping...organised madness...

i'm more than happy to drive in the italian countryside but I would not take her into the cities - maybe into a hotel on a main street which has a garage but thats it.

I remember being in Sorrento and the square was log jammed. so the little old ladies started driving along the pedestrian crossings and footpaths instead - priceless!
