As explained in another post, my 3200 has now a sagging leather headlining which needs to be fixed.

Before I take the car to a proper place I would appreciate if anyone here who already has the experience could give some tips about what should I bear in mind, or how this was done on your car.

Thank you.

You have a leather headlining in your 3200? I have seen it in the 4200 / Gransport but never in a 3200. Can you post a picture?

Quite easy to do.
I've replaced the headlining on my gransport (by a leather one) and put the headlining of th gransport in my 3200. They are compatible and the process is the same.
I bought the leather headlining second hand and it was sagging, a lot.

It's easy to repair, really.

I did a tutorial on maseratitude, of course it's in french but you can translate with google and the pictures will help.

Take your time, and you'll see it's quite an easy job.

Choose your glue carefully, it can be hot up there, and some of the glues don't hold well in the heat.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Had a quick look already. Will go throgh the tutorial with more detail. I am considering contracting the job as I believe my skills are not good enough.

Also seems some time and patience is needed.

Theres a video guide on it here, you basically have to peel off the old adhesive and put new one in. The leather is heavy and will always sag eventually

Interesting. Is your car perhaps a "Cornes" edition (= special Japanese dealer edition)? I see some kind of badge above the speaker cover on your doorcard.

Hello,

As far as I concern, my car is an standard 3200, though with many options, like the leather headlining, and the "Auditorium" music system. The badge you refer to is for this upgraded sound system.

Yet I must admit that this option name sounds a lot better than the music does through the speakers.

More watts it may have, but I remember the QP Evoluzione sound system having more quality.

The badge above the door speaker is an Auditorium sound system one, which is an factory option.

As far as I know there was no 3200gt special edition made for the japanese market.
They had the 2.8 ghibli cup,

The QP4 cornes edition (only 50)

Hello,

Thank you again for your assistance.

Feeling I have no time nor patience for this job, and in the interest of not letting the car down, I have taken the car back to the specialist.

I will be charged 800 eur vat included.

I want to see the car in good condition; after that, who knows.....
