Digging deep into esoteric Maserati history, I have come across an interesting footnote. Seems that Al Unser passed his Indy rookie test in 1965 in a Weismann-Maserati. An ugly spud, it was an early mid-engine design powered by a modified 4.2 Mas V8. Unser passed his test, but the car didn't qualify for the race.
The car still exists, and is owned (incomplete) by a guy in Seattle WA.
Anyway, thought you guys would be interested.
