Should we start another thread for radios then and take orders, what do you think..??

I think that's a good idea. I am certain it will be a much more enjoyable trip if we are all able to converse on the road and it may keep us out of the cr4p if any of the 'lead' cars see anything in 'pig blue' that might affect us emotionally and financially. Mitex General are a good compromise between price and performance.

I agree with the Mitex General, although they do require a licence. If we buy from Maplin we can obtain a bulk purchase price of £127.49 for two if we were to buy 10 pairs or more. That goes up to £134.99 for two if we only buy five sets.

They do make a more powerful 5W PMR446 variant, which is normally 0.5W, but although this requires a licence due to it's power output, we could get away with it by being on the PMR frequency but then claim ignorance by being 'over-powered'.

The route down I am working with includes the Fluella Pass..!!

OK if we are going for it try this

Its got 4 passes Grimsel, Fluella, Furka and San Bernadino, the Rhone Glacier and Devils Bridge, oh and 24 tunnels at least - but its 350 miles

I have ear plugs specially made to allow my exhaust note through and not those of a sparkling water drinking westerner who wears ear muffs and lip gel..!! Only for tunnels mind, the rest is open season on whomever dares to sample my sound system..!! My windows are usually down mate, just like my right foot..!!

Hi Robert,

I should be put down for single rooms in both Mulhouse (Tues) and Bormio (Wed), as per my booking form sent to Matt.
N.B. It will just be me coming on the trip (i.e. there won't be +1), but can you keep the double room that is booked for me in Modena, as it is only an extra €9/night for a double room versus a single.

is it worth getting a toll fast track tag anyway ? if so where do you get them from, can't find the post ?

For France the Sanef Toll Tag is great, they have an office in Harrogate so will be with you in a few days and always there then for the future..!!
For Switzerland you can get a Vigrette on eBay a bit cheaper..!!

You would be insured fully comp and would be free to drive as much or as little as you want.

It's a late offer for this once in a lifetime trip, departing Goodwood on the Sunday, you could always fly back after the festivities and make it just a 1 week trip...

Final option is airport collection and drop off Thursday to Sunday for the festivities in Modena...
