Maserati Centenary Trip

Hi Guys.

As per my post to Didier, I've passed our numbers (to date) back to the UK club. The plan then, as requested by Maserati, is to have the level of interest both in the UK and elsewhere passed back to Maserati, as it will assist them in making their plans, which as far as I've been told are not yet finalised - start point (likely to be Modena, but not confirmed) the route, the end point, the route planning, safely, policing, accommodation, etc, etc. This will be a gathering of at least several hundred Maserati, so some logistics to work through!

I am not aware that plans have been finalised, but if anyone knows something different, please do let me know.

If we are able to make hotel / villa bookings based in or around Modena without any penalty for cancellation, then this can't be a bad thing, but I do hope that before the month is out we will have more concrete information.

Regards, Miles.

Hi Didier,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for taking the time to let us know your plans.

It would be great to convoy down together, and I'm sure this is something we can both include in our forum plans.

You mention that you have booked your hotel rooms. Does this mean that you are aware of Maserati's plans for the celebrations?

I ask this as, in conjunction with the UK Owners Club, I am not aware that the plans have been finalised yet? From the last details I received, Maserati are still gauging interest and deciding on the format for the celebrations. Although it is likely that Modena will be the base for the celebrations, this has not yet been decided by Maserati?

I have emailed Roger and Derek from the UK Owners Club to let them know the numbers we are likely to be taking, and they in turn will pass this back to Maserati. I think we may hear more by the end of October.

Please do let me know if you have further details that I'm not aware of, as it would be great for all of us to work on this together I think.

With regards and thanks again for posting,

Miles.

Hi Miles,

We just know the dates from Maserati.
About the content, we're in touch with the event project manager in Maserati,
and i've to confess that we don't know what is the real plan of the factory.

Nevertheless, we plan to go and do not wait a lot... cos hotels and villas will be booked very soon.
We plan in Maseratitude to join Factory's event by saturday or sunday (depending on what they 're going to decide)
We'll organize by ourselves the rest of the stay.
We're working on it at the moment.

Hope to see you crossing France both with yr members and ours .. and get a pleasant stay in Italy.
Just let me know when you'll decide some during your next meeting.

Cheers, Didier

I agree, we will have to take a chance that Maserati will start this event in Modena. Should we book from the Thursday 18th and then decide on how many nights we stay..??

Apologies if this was somewhere earlier in the thread but do we have a broad view of timings yet, in terms of when we leave and return to the UK?

Adam,
No clear path at the moment, if i were to make a suggestion it would be from Monday 15th. September 2014, or the Tuesday, then a 2 day drive down to Modena arriving Thursday 18th. It's not clear about coming back yet, but we believe the event finishes on the 21st..??
Cheers

Right bang in the middle of my offshore trip :(
Will start making noises about moving Sept. shift if I can.
Had a look last night re hotels, majority only have a few rooms left for this weekend. Do we have a preferred hotel?

It's only a suggestion, but if we can reserve say 25 rooms at one hotel with parking, then we can settle back a bit. If we leave it we could be scattered all over the place with people on their own etc., or not get any rooms at all..!! I listed a few on a previous post that looked good and not that expensive..!!

Sounds good to me, Robert. I'll likely be in Amsterdam until the Tuesday or Wednesdasy so would probably join you somewhere in France, maybe where the tunnel surfaces. I'd love to join in the UK, but such fine-tuning can wait. Not sure if I'll have a +1 so could have room for a passenger. Eldest son will be starting 6th form somewhere new around then so suspect I'll be without family. Maybe that leggy blond we talked about on the other thread. All cameras to be left at home! :lol2:

Lady Stig says she wants to come, can you see her changing her mind when she realises what we could get up to..??

Nope! I reckon you'll have the Behavioural Enforcement Team with you there, Robert! Perhaps she can keep a close eye on any of us who would otherwise be off the leash for the weekend?

Please bear in mind that very few hotels in the centre of Modena have ample parking... so 25 will be a real push.
