Unsure of source of info, and accuracy, but there’s a great deal of truth within it somewhere. And then there’s battery disposal into developing countries which is far worse. View attachment 62084
I've used that one before. I think the top pic is actually a copper mine.
However, the main thing which will stop EV's is that 90% of the lithium mines in the world are either in China (or Chinese territory), or owned by the Chinese.
Can you imagine the uproar if the world (the US in particular) decide that we all will not use petrol and diesel any more and EV's are the way to go.
The POTUS will have to declare war on the Chinese as they control nearly all the worlds fuel, meaning they can hike prices and hold the world to ransom whenever they want.
It just won't happen.
The Japanese IMHO have the right idea. They are ploughing more and more into hydrogen vehicles.
Possibly due to the continuing hatred of China and not wanting to line their pockets with any more money than they have to. But possibly because it is the better source of fuel, and because it is cleaner.
The tech isn't quite there yet, but it's improving all the time.
The way I look at the change in fueling for cars/vehicles is like music.
First you had vinyl = Petrol
Then you had the CD = EV's
Now you have MP3 = Hydrogen
We're on the CD part of the journey.
