Indeed. I guess we all have different stages at which we jump off the purchase decision. For me a Maserati SUV would be getting serviced every eight months which is just nuts when Porsche offers 20000 miles/two year intervals. I've no problem with annual servicing like my XC90 has as long as the mileage interval is lengthy.It's all about profit
Different extremes of what is possible I guess with different motivation drivers. I remember my various V8 Audis' of two decades back which went to 19000 miles irrespective of how you drove them. I would hope that modern sensors are better and can pick up different usage patterns. I don't mind yearly servicing but the 9250 miles limit seems exceptionally low in the modern age.There are plenty of stories of VAG long life servicing killing engines (needle roller bearing in rockers falling to bits, oil pump drive failures, turbo failures due to filters getting blocked) but it reduces the service frequency and TCO and so long life services are all about the profits.
You could reasonably argue that asking for short service intervals is prioritising quality and longevity over sales (and therefore profit). But that would be a positive.

Yep and I also think the Levante as well. Something to do with the transition to the four cylinder engines which are a higher specific output. Still nothing silly mind when you think of what Merc does with small engines.Is that the Grecale? Makes little sense as the Ghibli is 12500 (from memory, I CBA to look it up)
