Indeed Andy, this will be the new GranSport based on an elongated 4C platform with the V6 Turbo mid mounted....with squish pipes, 4 cats and a chocking induction intake as requested by Ferrari.

GS Has as far as I recall been a four sear GT car....where as their two seat mid engined?

Interesting name mentioned - Maserati Alfieri.

I would be interested to know the source, as some of the styling elements are very different for Maserati.

Hard to call. Just looked at the grill on the new Audi TTS and it is a complete mess. Not sure what is happening to car design these days. I hope the real deal is an elegant, soft shape.

Thanks for the further photo's and video Pedro. They seem pretty convincing.

I have to say my initial impressions aren't altogether positive. It seems rushed, but it's certainly a statement of intent.

Autocar say its a replacement for the GT....Rubbish....They say it will be more 911 size.....An interview with Maserati said the GT would always be a real 4 seater.......THis car...if 911 size must be the new smaller GS type car...I like the concept by the way...

Maserati is said to have targetted a kerb weight of less than 1400kg for the new car.

That will be the 4C chassis then as Maserati do not have a chassis in that weight range to adapt.

I thought the new Grand Sport would be a 2 seater and the GT would continue to be a 2 + 2 sports grand tourer (albeit with less rear leg room).... If that is the case then I suspect, this is the new Grand Sport.

Makes sense. So they are basically doing both the F type and XK?
