The Granturismo Trofeo makes 488BHP via the use of revised Exhaust components, Induction parts and programming.

I have the details on the Exhaust and the Programming, but can find any information on the Induction modification. Does anyone know how the Trofeo induction parts are different or any related information?

I remember seeing a picture of it online somewhere at a track in all its livery. I noticed that they had removed the induction snorkel and simply attached a conical hi flow filter to the end of the plenums Throttle body.

I done know if this is what you speak of but I did think at the time that surely that was bad for combustion as it would be sucking in the dirty hot air from around the engine bay.

Hmmmmmm......... wonder if the bonnet is sealing around the filter to not allow engine heat near the filter. And The hood scoop providing the fresh air. I'll have to do some experiments....

Don't know whether it's the same one that Matt posted, but here's a shot of the Trofeo intake...

Has anyone ever done an air filter setup like that on a 4200?

Not that I'm aware of Vede. The 4200/GS plenum is swept to the side because the engine is set closer to the radiator and fans, and on the Trofeo they kept this arrangement.
Even if you could adapt the plenum to front entry, I'm not sure you'd have the clearance to fit the MAF and air filter, well not without a lot of work.

I'm guessing this works on the Trofeo cars as they have a scoop in the bonnet to feed fresh/cold air straight to the intake:

Agree, but I suspect there is something a little more involved somewhere which stops the warm air from the engine bay entering the filter.

Again it's a guess, but race cars are generally always moving, so coupled with the scoop they should be mostly getting cold(er) air into the intake. The issue of hot air entering the intake is more problematic with road cars due to the stop/start nature of driving and lack of air scoop.

Are the Trofeo cars 4.7L ?
A remap will give a GT-S 505bhp without a different air intake etc
