I am gonna buy one, (Kubang) if i win the lottery - everybody seems to hate it so I will have the most exclusive car in the world - which will make it priceless or when somebody else buys one - worthless.

oh well - only lottery numbers I know are last weeks

They will sell in huge numbers compared to the current range.
Bringing out an ugly 4x4 didn't do Porshe any harm.
I just hope it looks better in the flesh, I don't think I've seen any favourable comments from the scribes who went to the launch.

A bit too 'arty' for me. I wonder why the trident switches orientation on the roof between 58 seconds and 1.08 minutes. If they feel the need to ponce around with things like this, the least they can do is get it right. Just a thought.

Nice Vid Matt,,, I had not seen that mix...

The KuBang needs to go with a bang, dropping a chrysler engine in it will do nothing for the brand but harm... in my view.... But I guess most buyers won't be aware of that and will buy it for badge alone...

Personally its the one reason I won't touch it... lets hope fiat don't take maserati down to the merc and BMW brand level... infact with that engine it will be lower than the germans....

that means I would be forced to buy a ferrari.. next time round.

Can see that happening .....Maserati is a brand that people who are not in the know will buy for the name and style.......So there will be buyers buying the Kubang because its a Maserati and they like the look of it (God knows why)...They may not have a clue of whats under the bonnet..........

A lot of drivers don't know whether their car is front or rear wheel drive, or petrol or diesel.
So to the buyer who's looking for something flashier than a Porker it will be ideal.

Much as I hate to liken the future of Maserati to the path Porsche have already trodden, I have to say they've been very successful in keeping the petrolheads happy with the top-end exotics as well as catering to the mainstream motoring punter with the Cayman and the Cayenne. My worry with the Kubang is that it falls short of the mark by being bland, both in looks and performance. Yes the Cayenne is pig ugly, but it's not bland and I believe it's well built and certainly goes like stink. Not sure a Trident badge on the front of the motoring equivalent of John Major will be enough to make up for it's short-comings?
