Looks lovely - I never really liked the Grancabrio and much prefer the coupe body but yours looks fantastic!

That's where we differ. Perhaps I love mine a bit too much...

Good thread. Personally I couldn't justify chucking £40-60k at a car that whilst better doesn't give me any more of what I want.

Just think what you could get for that money. Is a Strad really twice as good as my MC? If I was buying new it would be an easier decision.

Glad this thread picked up the forum a bit - I visit every day and it seemed to be getting really quiet and boring in here ;-)

Strad may be what I move up to next instead of the 4.7 S.

Just a bit more extra win despite the same engine with a few more horses.

I seriously considered a Strad some time back as a successor to the GS. Only the 2-seater was available then and I had to dismiss the idea on the grounds of practicality - it's a very big 2-seater! The newer version with 4 seats seems less raw to me.

Indeed MAF, I would say, having seen it, Blondies 2 seater with the roll cage in the later guise is the one to go for.

Sure its totally impractical and Blondie used the rear cage to store the fruits of her Italian shoe shopping expedition but it works for me.

If I was going to change the GS (if) I believe the Strad would be the only thing I would go for. Can't see them dropping much either now.

But you don't buy a GT to have only 2 seats, surely the whole point of a GT is that it is a cruiser which can carry four adults and that is one of its strengths. I would not have a strad in 2 seater form.

Next car for me is the GTS MC Shift.

A car that can do over 2k miles with 4 adult-size people and three weeks worth of shite in complete complete and with a barrel of laughs is a rare beast. Mine does exactly that, but anything which compromises the ride would be a bad thing. Whilst the Strad is more planted I've heard it's a harsher ride. And tbh anything lower than mine would be a pain in the ar5e - despite having been keen to drop mine by 1/2" I'm glad I didn't. Just love it as it is (though the exhaust could go a bit louder...).

I agree with Matt, the 2 seater will be collectable as time goes on....and although I get fack the 4 seater makes more sense the 2 seater has a greater sense of occasion with its stunning buckets and harness if you go for one with it in......Driven a number of Maserati and all are special but when Merrian let me drive hers that was a cut above the rest...

Harness for every day or occasional use is ******* stupid!

Sorry but you try leaning over or trying to press a button on the centre console when in a harness. Fine for track use but lets face it how often would a Strad see track use?

Depends on what you wanted it for but I would have one without as you can have normal belts as well........If I had a Strad it would go on track..Why would you have one and not do that......If only to see what it will do as you certainly wouldn't be able to on UK roads...

It is, but the point is that it all ads to that special feel, I think thats what Andy and I are attempting to convey.

I doubt you will notice much difference in performace moving up from the 4.7s to the stradale but going from the 4.2 myself I noticed a reasonable difference. In power.
If you find a bargain then I think the stradale is justifiable.

WHen i had the MRK1 Exige with harness every time I strapped myself in felt like an event and felt special ....Pain in the **** for everyday use....but very special as a toy for fun...

I have both in my Noble and I have say I find driving in roads with a harness quite dangerous. There are many occasions that I need to lean out to get better visibility when pulling out of junctions and having a harness does not allow this. So I never use it on the road.

Very much agree with this.

The whole point of purchasing the GT was due to its (relative) practicality, given two small children to haul around.

IMO, That's the whole beauty of it. Four seats, Supercar looks, cachet and a great engine note.

If I wanted a similar exotic with only two seats, would have gone for an Aston Vantage.

Cheers, interesting observation given you've actually had both and taken the leap.

Now to get one imported from the UK to Australia.

Hahah.

Still watch that great video diary of yours en route to France.

Brilliant. Should do another one.

The Le Mans Video? I have done a Goodwood Revival one and try to do one for each major meet/event we have on these great forums.

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm just looking forward to getting a GT now :)

Cool. Missed the Goodwood one. Not on here as much these days.

Will check it out.
