Pre-requisites of MAserati ownership...

1/ A love and understanding of the marque
2/ Deep pockets
3/ Patience
4/ Broad shoulders
5/ Wicked sense of humour....
6/ A place to escape and share the passion for these fabulous money pits we are the custodians of!!!

Long live SportsMaserati... You know it mankes sense (I keep my membership on MF and visit on occasions particularly for technical stuff but they are becomming more infrequent). Great bunch on here, I am liking the informal atmosphere and 'strikes'... What other forum can drift anything like as much as this one and still keep its integrity... And as for organising and pulling off an awards event in the first year - That's special!

Now how soon can we organise some sun visor strips for our daily drives so we don't look like pillocks randomly waving at Maserati's from our vans and GeWiz's?

......Newton, the only problem with the sunvisor thingie is no one else would see it where I live........only 2 other Masers in the county.......not sure they can be classed as Maseratisti as such.......only saw 1 of them on the road twice in 2 yrs!

Agree with most of the rest....BUT.....No 2 has been eased somewhat over the last year due to the work of members on here!

Frank, I have to agree wholly with the fabulous work done by members on here, and to date I have been lucky with mine but there are others on here who have been hit bad and needed the support of the members (two of the top posters in particular!)...

I don't suppose everone would want to have a visor strip advertising their toy but I've failled to stop the traffic in the Rotherhythe tunnel yet to chat to the one I pass regularly and in the city in particular I think it would get seen.

Always stressing the indie inspection aspect of the whole research and pre-purchase Maserati "foreplay".........

BUT Newton.....................it is a supercar with associated supercar costs........no getting away from that single fact no matter how cheap they are to buy.

If you bear those few facts in mind....and budget for same.....then no worse than most other supercars.

I feel honoured im a part of it.... Have always encouraged this forum to do well and will carry on trying to do my best....feel like family with you all, thats what makes this different to the others.....
I dont believe a car forum should be just bout cars....we have different sections and can talk to each other like facebook....a social maserati owners site.....

Interesting this, I thought I would count up the post count manually on MF since Brian removed their total and I was quite shocked at what I found.

I know we on SM are 'post happy' but I did not know just how much you guys have been posting.

MF was registered on 14 May 2005 making it exactly 6 years old and in that time has amassed a total of 61,212 posts

SM was registered on 23rd Feb 2010 making it just over a year old and in that time has amassed a whopping 93,376 posts

That gives SM an annual post average of 76k and MF an annual post average of 10,200!

I never knew we were that much infront on the post count either, I thought we would be way behind.

Matt, thats amazing..Sure it there will be a few more records smashed ove rthe coming year...

No but the stuff some of us said in there and how we describe the opposite sex was hilarious. Come on, you know you must have laughed on several occasions.

I have registered and posted a couple of things on MF but in all honesty, it's a bit quiet!

Also, I'm not sure if I'm missing something but I find using MF really clunky - you can't simply write a post and then enter a couple of spaces after it to create a new paragraph like you would when typing in the normal fashion. Instead, you have to know a bit of HTML code to be able to enter the right details at the end of sentence to put in a new paragraph. If you don't enter the code and instead just add a couple of spaces, they don't register and the post looks like one massive paragraph!

Has anyone else found this and if so, whats the reason for it being so underdeveloped? Or am I just doing something very wrong?
