don't get the price point. a 911 rival would be 80k to start. 100k as a starter just sounds too much. also 450 to 550 bhp starts to impinge on Ferrari, if they get the weight down to 1400kg - the power to weight ratio will be close to a 458 for a lot less. cannot believe Wester wil be allowed.

I agree, but wouldn't it be fantastic f it was? That would put Maserati right back on the map. Better performance and handling than a 911 and more luxurious and cheaper than a Ferrari. They would sell hatfuls, and I guess they have to to reach 50,000 units a year.

There was a not to similar article in last weeks paper version of Autocar. Looks like they knocked up a new render in the last week with the lines of a Evora. Maybe we need to knock up a rendering of the Autocar 2015 edition where they aim to compete with Viz with more factual content.

Seen a few articles and EVO said it would be 100kish as well....Thing is it would still be a 911 rival as although the 911 starts at 80k not many leave the factory at that price.......Plus most who spend 80k on a 911 would have the extra 20k to look at the Maserati I would have thought........Original talk was that it would have the power and pace of the 911 Turbo and at 100k would make it better value than the Turbo which is now well over 100k....

It this will be based on the 4C does it spell the end of the Alfa as not heard a thing about it for months and months....My dealer was phoning me every month with updates at the beginning but now it had all stopped....

I feel the Alfa will not happen now. There was also mooted an Abarth and now a Maserati, wish they would just hurry up a do something.

I reckon this car will happen, and if it's 550bhp, it'll go like a rocket and cost about £120k or so. Can't wait, only problem as always, finding £120k!
