Didn't make it home at the weekend as there were no flights from Dublin to Southampton! (Mind you on the plus side my mate couldn't get home either so we did get the opportunity to inspect the inside of the local drinking establishments!) This morning it was beginning to thaw and things were looking up.... and then an hour ago it started all over again:

If it continues I'll be booking a ferry home and driving the Mini back so I don't miss the Xmas do!

To add insult to injury I got a call from my car man telling that my new X5 was ready for collection.... in the UK.... where there's no snow.... and I'm stuck here in the snow.

(On the plus side he says it's a beast and the 4.4V8 sounds awesome :auto62: )

The Jet was going to cost US$14k, I thought that was a little steep on this occasion.
Although, that was a return....

Just driven to my house here in Ireland and it was worse than last week. But great fun too!
I live in acul-de-sac on a hill, so it needs a run up to get in. Last week I perfected the 90 degree handbrake turn to make reversing into the drive easier. However, tonight I could only get it to spin 75 degrees as I couldnt get the speed up.
So I reversed back into the side road and carried on past my cul-de-sac up the next hill, as I began losing traction up the hill I went for another handbrake turn, again only getting half way round a 180 turn I spun up the front wheels, and being on the hill the front just drifted round and was facing back down the hill for my run up to the cul-de-sac for another go at my driveway. This time with more speed the handbrake turn to line up with the drive went well and the Mini is all parked up safely off the road.

And yes, I am pleased with myself :)

Cant you work in Hetfordshire Dan? We've missed all the snow almost entirely. Mind, that didnt stop the train companies from throwing their tyos out the pram.
