Cheaper than a 911 Turbo......what would you rather be seen in........ and they say it will drive at least as well....

and then there's the noise......

And that's a bad thing? The main concern I have is the noise. A twin turbo V6 a la M5 doesn't make that great a sound; the turbos tend to muffle the pulses and won't sound anywhere near as good as a GTS.

Exclusive images............Yes but ones they have put together.......................Sorry but it will need to look more like a Maserati than a Alfa...............Anyone can take an Alfa 4C and put a Maserati front one it......Prefer EVO's effort to be honest....................Very exciting though and really look foreard to seeing what Maserati cpme up with..........

90k..............Is that too much....They are talking of it being as quicker than a 911 turbo and thats a few more £'s than 90k....

450bhp may be quicker than todays 911 turbo, but unlikely to be quicker than the 911 turbo of 2015 so i still think pricey, but maserati has is recent years been moving the brand upwards, a 3200/4200/gransport were jag xkr bracket, now a quattroporte/gts are much pricer than any jag

The bit I don't like about the story is the 2015 date. Three years more of the QP chassis?

So in a way I hope that Maserati UK are right ...

Can you expand upon that Bob, sounds interesting.

The 4C project is in trouble there is no doubt of that. The proposal to push it into Maserati territory looks to be failed too. I said when it was first mooted that Ferrari would not allow it...and it looks like that is the case.

The problem for Alfa and Maserati is: new platform = new production line = $$$ costs.

IIRC Maserati only returned to profit after moving to a single platform in 2007.

I've been told that Maserati are denying the mid engined Gransport will happen and they are saying that the GranTurismo replacement will remain a four seater GT.

Perhaps it's a denial to throw the hacks off the trail.

Always possible. I would not be buying one as I don't like mid engined cars and Maserati for me is a brand that offers four seats in an elegant coupe body.

Exactly plus why produce a car that competes with your sister company, does not make sense.

I can see nothing wrong with idea that Maserati should be able to compete openly in the market place , No longer under Ferrari control that car is positioned nicely to challenge most major performance car manufacturers and looks good value at £90K if the numbers add up , about time they did a complete wow factor ( Merak/Boorer), and if it means taking over the failed 4C project the all the better , most of the research costs have already been born so whats to lose , i for one would love to see it come to fruition
