My GT is sold!

Following on from the used prices thread, I enquired about a price for my GT with my main dealer and made me a very good offer. And this got me thinking (even more than I was before) about trimming down my cars and motorcycles and buying something frivolous.

The GT has always been an every day car for me (not necessarily a daily driver but my go to car) but COVID has made me rethink my usage and needs. And so I invited the buyer round to assess my car with a view to selling if they honoured the telephone bid.

To my surprise, they upped the offer (to almost that of WBAC) and I have agreed to sell.

Other vehicles will be leaving Hawk manor as well to be replaced with ..... who knows at this point but it will include a mid engined 2 seater and a fun daily driver.

I guess the current market paying good prices for cars is a double edged sword though.
You’ll pay more for the replacement/s too !

Cost to change etc. Unless you wait a year or so…

If you are going to sell do it now as sure I saw a post from Dicky saying over the next few months prices will stabilise again.

I'm in no hurry to buy anything else - I still have 7 other vehicles in the fleet - and in truth probably will wait for the right car to appear and for prices to drop as the current bubble will burst. And also winter to come as I want a rag top.

In the interim, I have always wanted a Morgan 3 wheeler and will look for one as a summer toy while decide what I need / want.

That is funny, I always wanted to add a Morgan to the collection (an Aero, not a 3 wheeler but maybe one day on that). I toyed with selling the MC-Victory to part fund one but ended up trading two other cars instead for what they owed me and a Morgan Aero Coupe will be coming soon. So that is three cars out from the collection this year. But not part of the plan is two back in :) Hey-ho
What I can say is there was at least a ten percent rise in price on the Morgans of interest to me in the last 6-12 months but they don't come up often so I had to pay the price if I wanted one.

I have no idea what any of the Morgans are called, they're all pretty much the same aren't they?? (other than the 3 wheeler).
But saw one on the way into the office this morning when it was lashing it down with rain, I doubt that would have been pleasant! The number plate was W1MOG

I have broken with the typical Morgan trend and mine has a fixed roof, but the wipers are next to useless so it won't get used in the rain. Don't want to de-rail the thread so will start a new one when it arrives. But, no each Morgan is different in the same way each Porsche is different and each Aston is different :)
Loosely based on this, which is a good read

My mate has got an Aero 8 which I have driven a number of times ... and it is great fun on dry hot roads .... almost go kart like.

I get the quirky nature of Morgans and I can see why people like them but not something I would personally purchase

First car I ever drove was a 3 wheeler Morgan v twin motorcycle engine single rear wheel drive. Did a parade lap around Mallory Park back in the late 1970’s.If only they knew I had never driven before:p

I do like the Aero 8. I had a passenger ride in one once and it was pretty special. Think it had a BMW V8 in it.
