Seems like an age, 4 weeks away at Dick Lovetts at Swindon. Here is what they did:

Rear brake discs
Rear brake pads
Handbrake shoes and carrier
New rear right hand hub assembly
New antirollbar bushes
New brake fluid
Rear wheel bearing assembly

and to go with the brand new wheels and tyrees:

Painted calipers yellow &
Full alignment

I cannot recommend Dick Lovett Maserati in Swindon enough. Alan in parts (Enzo knows him with his 550 rebuild), Darryl and Paul and Jo in service who where really sympathetic to the age of the car and therfore their charges - really - it was well within Indy territory with both parts and labour - they had the car for 4 weeks but it was worth it. Thank you to all if you are reading this.............................

Looks lovely Marc. The flash of yellow adds a really nice accent through the wheels. Must admit I didn't realise the QP disks weren't drilled?

Cheers, Miles.

I think they became an option...Sure I heard Enzo say that somewhere....Standard on GT's and GTS I think...

Just had the discs replaced on the RRS at the back - vented but not drilled. Also Brembo but 1/5th of the price.........

Thanks Andy

I recall having to "admit" on the forum that i was the nutter that bought the car with the unusual interior!!!

Dick Lovetts admit they hgave never seen this combo

and they have never done yellow calipers on a QP.

I like to be different LOL!!

An absoltely amazing car, that makes an amazing noise, and is individual ...........................

Next mod is to get the calipers on the Range Rover supercharged (Brembo) painted yellow ..............................

Just gorgeous Marc....many more happy miles........................!!!

Alan in parts is a top guy....Lovetts have a good reputation too.

What was the rear bearing problem?

Remind us how many miles/year of car/version?

Rear bearings have a magnetic strip for the ABS and it does not like to be removed/replaced. Upshot is that whilst the bearing was Ok the strip was not. £700 incl fitting

Really like the yellow. Should have gone for grey on the outside and burgundy on the face mind!

Cheers, Miles.

4.7QP is drilled but 4.2 is only drilled if you opt for the performance pack (or whatever it is called).

PS That's why I don't understand the 4.2 GranTurismo's braking issues as it has drilled disks and weighs less than the QP.

Thanks Bob. When you say " Should have gone for grey on the outside and burgundy on the face mind" do you mean the interior? I had to buy it "as is " LOL
She is 6 years old ........

Was trying to be funny. Felt you could replicate the interior colour scheme on the calipers.

If I was buying a 4+ year old Maser again then I would buy the QP - enjoy!

Bet you feel good rolling down the hill into Burford in it? Is the shop with the stone boars still on the RHS?

I think if I was buying a Maser it would be the QP as well. They are amazing, and those calipers look great, nice idea.
