Mysterious unplugged connector under steering column cowl…

Took off the dashboard cover to replace the buttons next to the nav screen. While doing it I thought I should take off the cowl covering the steering column so I can check how the paddles fit around the wiper/indicator stalks. As I did this I found this mystery connector just hanging there. Is this normal? If not, where should I plug it back in?

Not thick enough cable I suggest, but could well be wrong!

Don’t think you could get it on a GranTurismo anyway… To be fair, I think all GTs came pretty much fully optioned as far as electronics were concerned. It was interior colour/finish/trim where Maserati made the killing by calling it “options” and charging you a second mortgage for a bit of CF trim and MC clocks for example…

That will be for the dial up modem high tech optional pack. :saifi4:

They make one loom to fit all the cars in the range regardless of what options are specced so you will find random plugs not connected to anything dotted round the car.

The loom may have revisions in later life when say the facelift is launched.

On the plus side it does mean that if your car wasnt specced with something from factory that it may well be plug and play if you can find the part second hand like cruise control on the 4200 for example.

Assuming the car was bought from "dirty rotten scoundrels" it might be the adaptor for a genital cuff?
Look in the glovebox, if you find a Spork - Bingo!
