As mentionned in my presentation, (see http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/1582-A-Swiss-in-the-Forum ), I had "little problems" as I purchased my '02 maserati.

I had to change the following parts :

- Complete exhaust system with rear boxes, both catalysts, exhaust manifold, central silencers. The dealer who repaired it in the USA only soldered a tube from the motor to the back boxes :banghead2:
- Front wishbones and upper levers, the 4 wheels (they were buckled)

The parts I'm looking for are:

1) The undermotor frame (part n° 67650500). Mine was crooked. I bought one used in Italy but it was crooked too. It was like new, the guy had a paint job, but it had an accident...

2) Complete electrofan set with AC and Water radiator (part n° 181737)

3) Back boxes shield (part n° 190270)

4) Plastic part of the rear window (part n° 66130300)

5) Tie rod kit for front hood opening (part n° 66070800)

6) Hand break knob (part n° 191830)

7) certainly the hydraulic system for the top (part n° 66106400) I need to go to the dealer to see what's the problem with the opening

8) Washer for Xenon headlights (part n° 14498805 I think)

I'll post the next things I need in another post...

:broke::broke::broke:

Am sure the two named suppliers in the first thread can help you with most of those, apart from the hood parts, better sending an email to them and get a job lot price ?

Or you might consider up-grading your exhaust, and bypass the horrific costs of the catalysts!!????

Might be worth putting a postin the wanted parts section, you might be lucky and find someone who has upgraded the exhaust and has bits of the standard exhaust still about.

Thanks

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough.:conf4: Exhaust line and suspension had already been purchased and changed. The parts I need are in bold.

I forgot to mention that I also need:

- F1 control gearbox that is a little limp (Part N° 183329)
- a complete oil tank (Part No. 189163)

Oh god, every time I make a list, I just want to cry...

Again K...its all about helping yourself.......but via this forum, do put the list together in total, e-mail to the businesses above....get a job lot quote.......

I have no doubt there will be a way of getting the work done far more cheaply elsewhere in Europe, plus not have to spend £6k getting it homologised in Switzerland?

Consider all your options.....keep asking questions...:)

Thanks again for your help.

The was of the homologisation in Switzerland was the price asked by Maserati. It's a crazy, unfounded price. I worked as a trainee for a company that imported new cars from Europe and sold it in Switzerland. I know how it works. It's the last of my problems...

I considered to have it fixed in Italy or France, but the prices are also very high. In Europe, Maserati is a luxury brand. And I prefer have fixed by my mechanic, that I know for a very long time and in whom I trust. Electronics will be done at Maserati's.

Kamaii, what is the Maserati scene like in Switzerland, meet ups, car club, member of it?

Forums for your country?

Have you tried the French or Italian forums....any feedback from them...interested to hear of how things are over there!

The answer from a moderator of Switzerland official Maserati club in two sentences : "Our club is only for new models. Go to a Maserati workshop and they'll fix it". Translation, it's your problem, my friend. Swiss Maserati owners are very funny...

French maserati forum : it's very hard to find parts for these newer models. Salvage yards usually sell theses parts to Germany or UK. Salvage yards usually sell theses parts to Germany or UK. Issues with Ebay are impossible to solve, etc.

In Germany Maserati forums, user are very kind but the adresses they gave where they sell parts are too expensive.

Italy : I went to Rome to buy several parts but it comes out that two of those were not in good conditions. (just name it bad luck) I had my money back, but had to ship it back by post and costed a lot. And as a gift, since Italian highways where closed because of the snow, I trusted blindly my navigation system that made me go through a little border. The customs were there at 1am and gave me a big fine because I cannot go through that border if I have something to declare. No matter explain that highways were closed.

I should write a book about my Maserati :D

Portugal and Spain, no known club.

5 different languages on a lot of forums and the best answers were in this one. Once again, thank you guys.

Kamaii, its a pity that overall your experiences have been poor, but as you've found out, we like to try our best on this forum to help.......do think about Conaero's suggestion and hopefully you'll find all the parts you need over here at a far better price!

Do start writing that book!

Kamaii,In the UK there is at LEAST 2 "NORMAL" people selling or breaking 4200 spyders.
One guy is steve on +44( 0 )1637881181
I am not sure what he has but he is cheap and i would sugest if you can speak passable english you give him a call.
I could do it for you and also aquire any parts he had that you needed, but you would have to arrange to courier them to your country from my home address.
I have left a message with him and will get back to you.
I will also contact the person i got my parts from.

He has the under motor frame, Hand break knob and F1 control gearbox.

I'm waiting for the answer of Eurospares. I sent an e-mail yesterday.
