Just as well she doesn't live in my road! You'll see (hear) what I mean at Brunty next week!

Not had any complaints from the villagers where I live but to be honest the noise I may is minimal compared to out biggest neighbour.

However we do have people who complain that the circuit is too noisy, these are the same people who forget there houses are worth more, we still have vibrant community facilities (post office, village shop & pub) and that they are all happy to rent out spare rooms or driveways for the thousands of visitors to the GP each year.

I'm very lucky as most of my neighbours are very friendly. Fortunately, if there are any dissenters I can't hear them because I make too much noise as I drive past. FWIW, I lost track of the number of times I was asked to rev my car at Oulton yesterday so there are quite a few out there that do like a lot of noise. However, I sympathise with the OP and I applaud his live and let live attitude (although, IMO, the complainant needs a good shouting at). As Matt said the modified GS (valved) box option is probably the way I would go to keep everyone happy.

Not sure about loud 4200's, but the odd occasion when I park the old 3200GT overnight in the village in the summer months, people come up and ask for the engine to be started...

They all seem to love the looks of the old Maserati 3200!

Dave
Yes I agree with you, most of my neighbors enjoy the audio pleasures of the Maserati, except for one evil harpie who complains about anything.

Some people must think they can live in silence!!!...I know of some city folk who moved to my last village complained about the village church clock and won (now it no longer chimes) and the fields of sheep bleating (lost that one) moved away after a year as they were ostracised by the community.

Fortunately one of my neighbours has a V12 Aston. That said, my son has complained that I've woken him up in the morning when going to work, by simply starting the car...

While I stand by the approach of Petbri, in a similar vein of lunacy to the above, when we moved into our new house, we managed to fall out with one set of neighbours (about 2 houses down) who we now refer to as 'Mr and Mrs Miserablebastard)

Turn up at our cul-de-sac with a normally sized removals lorry. Nothing for it but to limit access to the three houses beyond ours. There is literally nothing else that can be done and we're talking about parking and walking maybe 50m tops.

So we're half way through unloading, and this woman suddenly appears at the back of the van and goes *totally* nuclear.
We were breaking the law
It was illegal
She was calling the police
Preventing her from getting to her house.

So I offered to come and get her when she was finished, pay for her to eat out, carry whatever she had in the car.

She got more unreasonable.

So our head removal turned round and said '**** off you miserable cow'

Oddly they've not acknowledged our existence since. We still send them a Christmas card every year, mind :D

when we moved in I had a neighbour opp me come over......I see him from upstairs walking over with his wife so I grabbed my little one to open the door (hoping the little one will break the ice), I opended the door and they said "could you please not park infront of your drive as we cant reverse into ours" I told them "no" then he says "the previous owner never did" I said "well this one has 2 more cars coming out of storage and if I choose to park infront of my drive I will" till this day we don't speak........

My neighbours are really good.Recently I was sorting out the garage so had 4 cars on the drive, 3 on the road and the only place to stick the RR was on the grass verge outside our house. Said grass verge is at about a 30 degree angle so RR was sat at one to those angles you only see when off roading.

Neighbour popped round and said fell free to park on our drive if you need extra space, just leave access to the garage. Hence Maser is more often than not on their drive rather than mine - happy days (well until he brings his boat back for winter)

A little Scottish Humour for you.

For what it's worth, my neighbour hates all 3 houses that back onto his land so much that he recently bought a cockerel to go with his hens. He has a retrospective planning application in for two single garages on greenbelt land next to his house which I wasn't going to bother commenting on. I will now. He and his sheds must go!

So it seems like I am the only person that has had a complaint about the sound of their car. Lucky me. I think I may just have to move house.

May not go down too well but maybe she can move her bedroom to the back of the house and install double glazing in that room.

Don't forget to cull all the local dogs and muzzle any raucous children.

The only one who complains is the mother-in-law who even suggested it was too loud for my son to be in. Duly ignored.

My downstairs neighbour complained about me have Radio 4 on at 1 or 2am and banged on his ceiling, my floor, waking ME up. He complained to the council who wrote me a nice letter about antisocial behaviours etc. I called them and pleaded my innocence and counter complained about him waking me up. In the end, his delusional behaviour was proven as he woke up my next door neighbours by his banging whilst I was in Mexico! I think he's on different drugs now.

Just spend a very pleasant couple of hours cleaning and pampering the car and was feeling very at peace with the world. Then I fired her up to nip down to Halfords for more cleaning products only to be confronted by a neighbour who lives opposite, in tears. She says she can't cope with the sound of my car and that I had woken her up (1615 on Sunday). It turns out that she has a medical complaint that means she cannot sleep much at night and has to sleep during the day. She also hinted that she was not the only neighbour who did not appreciate the sound of the Maserati V8. She literally begged me to do something about it.

I love the sound of my car but I don't like being antisocial and upsetting people and I certainly don't want my car to be an object of hate. Neither do I want any neighbour agro - its the worst thing ever.
So I will have to go back to the original exhaust. I currently have a Larini H pipe and straight throughs (Parisien will correct me if I'm wrong). Do I have to revert to the full original system to be safe, or do you think I can get away with putting the back boxes on and keeping the H pipe?

BTW Frank - I have just spotted the video you posted on the Exhaust thread of 'our' car. What a great little film!

Your's is an admirable stance.

Could you have a word with the utter scumbags who live next door to me and have let their dog out at 6:45am every morning for the last God knows how many years please!

Party at yours then! Few more Maseratis should do the trick, as for the band for this party, well you know about my alter ego.. ;) www.ballroomgitz.com
That should sort him out!!!
