New after-market GTS wheels

As much as I like the larger alloys. I'm inclined to go with the age old adage.
Don't fix what ain't broken.

Apart from how lost the wheels can look in those big arches? That needs fixing. Priority 1. Wheels can be thought about later, I reckon.

I assume that there is no adjustment on the GTS shocks / Spring Hangers, like there is on the 3200/4200/GS then, so you can level, or lower / higher the car..??

The only worry for me is what 21's would do to the ride.....I think I would prefer to get some FD springs, spacers and same size FD wheels...Always thought the GT needed to wheels pushed out a bit and to be slightly lower.

I think 21s would balls the ride up, Andy. They'd be on lower profile tyres as well. So they're out. Whilst I like the idea of a new set of wheels and carefully chosen they'd do the car a lot of good, on balance a touch lower and a little more stance would be a better change.

I am with MCS, keep the standard wheel.

The Neptunes are an iconic wheel, same as the GS's and fit the car perfectly.

I understand you want to freshen up the GTS as you have had it a while now, how about wrap?

Same view from me. Neptune is hard to beat.

I seem to recall a thread on Maserati life about QPV owners doing this and messing up the skyhook such that Maserati changed the design of the springs to stop this.

Stick with standard wheels and leave well alone. Agree with BB that money better spent elsewhere and I wouldn't want to mess with the suspension unless removing skyhook for Stradale kit.
Ride height change just for looks seems risky to me as it will be a real PITA when you lose your exhaust on the first centrally mounted road "cushion"you cannot avoid.

Wheel refurb with colour change (£400-500)
Full detail - trust me, after having your car look better than new it really does freshen it up and turn heads with mirror like swirl free paint (less than £1k)
Lot's of petrol and drive it more (less than £1k)

Hate to say it but generally when I start thinking about cosmetic mods, it means I am approaching car sale time as getting bored. Often this is because I am not driving the car enough and the more I use it, the less likely that I want to modify or sell it.

Lost in comparison to what? I've never seen a GT that I've thought "needs bigger wheels" or "needs lowering".

IMHO you only need to do either is if you're tracking a GT. Other than than leave as is.

I like the wheels in your second pic, Adam. I think they suit the car well. Although I love the Neptunes, they are starting to look a little dated to me. I really like the original Stradale wheels, way more than the new ones (they look like something from Halfords to me!).

I also really like these in a bright silver finish (possibly the same wheels?):

They look absolutely fantastic wheels, and personally I prefer them to the OEM wheels.
They don't have to be bigger diameter than standard though.

Not remotely ready to sell it. The only car that would suit me better would be a 4-seat Strad (not inclined to chuck my car and £70k into a dealer for one of them, undeniably fantastic though they are) or a Ferrari FF (as per the Strad but £100k extra). Instead it's time for a subtle adjustment. Nothing that the local Corsa drivers would think was even worth the bother, but enough to just make it a touch more purposeful. The goal is to make it look better, not look lowered or otherwise buggered about with, if you see what I mean. Pre x-pipe I loved the noise. With x-pipe I realise what I was missing before. These cars have scope for some quite subtle fiddling.

The GT is cursed with a big gap between the top of the wheel and the arch, mostly at the rear. The wheels are also tucked a long way into the arches. The Stradale has these problems fixed a little and looks better for it.

Gah! You're not helping, Mike.

Pick the right wheels, and they can transform the look of the car, like mine has.
Come sale time, put the original wheels back on, simples!

Glad to hear it. Big leap to a strad. Be interested to see what you choose in the end and needless to say pics are essential. Good luck!

I like the look of your car Adam, I think a bit of tweaking with maybe wheel colour might help your opinion and it sounds great..!!
