Hey,
Well yesterday morning had my boiler condemned as it had originally been installed wrong, the walls of my house are quite thick so the installers had taken 2 flues cut on down and sleeved the other with the cut down one to make it fit through the wall.
Now a few years down the line the chopped up flu has deteriorated to the point were it wasn't removed by the engineer but brushed out of the hole in flakes of rust resulting in the whole thing being condemned as the boiler was never fit for the application.
So, we've had a lot of trouble with the boiler over the time we've lived here and as we have no hot water or heating we have had someone round from British Gas to survey and provide a quote.
It's working out at £3,867 and what we get for that is
Glowworm Flexicom 30cx
Wireless Programmable Thermostat (One you can take to different rooms that works over RF, useful as the house is over 4 floors)
2 years complimentary Homecare 200 which is essentially a warranty on the entire system including all existing pipes and radiators.
Internal Condensate & Pump
Powerflush as half our raditors have cold spots and no matter how often are bled don't get warm. Also with this deal we can have unlimited powerflushes throughout the lifetime of the system as long as we keep up the homecare which we had anyway.
And a Magnetic System Filter for collecting ferous particles from the insides of radiators.
Also getting a £200 off voucher from the gas engineer who condemned the thing and 20,000 nectar points for the purchase.
We can finance the whole thing over a completely flexible payment term that allows for early settlement with no fee's at any stage in the finance and we can overpay if we are particularly flush one month.
The new boiler also takes up a quarter of the space of the old one in the kitchen.
Does this seem a good deal to anybody on here who knows about these things?
Cheers
Sean
