Great lenswork! I assume not a really fast shutter to retain the movement but a pretty wide aperture (2.8?). It's always great when the new kit works out!

I am still hauling my EOS 1DX around. Part of my weight training regime! I sometimes long for something lighter! mirrorless seems the way to go

The advantage of mirrorless is you can put a pancake lens on it and it'll fit in your pocket

The main weight is the lenses , big lenses make the camera feel really small so you need a battery grip and , you're back where you started

I've got a Pentax ME Super which is almost exactly the same size as a mirrorless camera so it shows you how big DSLRs have got

Have to agree. I love my little M3 but as soon as you put decent lenses on it I wonder whether I should just go back to a DSLR

Having played with this Sony for a weekend there's no way I'd go back to a DSLR , the hit rate is phenomenal

I've never known a camera to track a subject like this , 300m away it'll lock on to a bike , a green box appears on the subject , even when all I could see was the top of his head behind the fence it was still locked on

Then he cleared the fence and a Japanese voice said oi knobhead are you taking this picture or what
Amazing

If you want to take decent pictures most of the bodies under 10 years old will do that but it's the glass that makes the difference

There really isn't much weight to be saved unless you're shooting landscapes with a little 18mm Samyang on when it can go from the above , to this, almost pocket sized

I really admire those of you that take photography so seriously, taking proper pictures with proper cameras. If I had to do lockdown all over again I think I would use the time to learn the basics.
In the meantime I am embarrassed to say that I play around with a Nikon P900 using just the presets and keep well away from the manual settings.
I can get some remarkably good long range snaps though.

Is that a 300 f/2.8 I had the non IS version about 10 years ago , by the end of the day it was like swinging a sledgehammer about
That's the one. Care required if at a circuit all day if corrective physio is to be avoided!

Canon one is the same price new so I bought mine from ex pro who was switching to mirrorless and lighter lenses, clearly not working out enough!
