Thought it’d be an easy fix, but no, they were attached to Ferrari 250s, some Maserati and some Astons. eBay price for one with the wrong badges c. £1,000+. Without a badge c. £650.
Stuck a wanted ad in the Lancia club mag just in case and a chap suggested he sent me two busted ones for £25. He reckoned they might make one good one between them if I could dismantle them and swap the lids. Spent two hours in the shed with some elbow grease and hey presto he was right.
Given the jet-set back story of her previous owner Countess Agusta, I wonder if she just wore the original ashtray out?
