Thats a great read, nice find. I will have a look round and see if I can find some more info, but exciting times ahead, and nice to see that Fiat is not planning to off Alfa.

I would appear that the new Alfa 169 wont happen, but this will turn into this new Maser sedan, instead with Alfa concentrating on the SUV, which is obviously aimed at the US market.

Good time ahead.

Inevitable perhaps, but a worry. Part of the joy of owning a Maserati is the rarity and this could put the kybosh on that. Mind you, we need to wait and see what it looks like of course.

The Global Motor Industry

Well don't believe to much you read in any Australian newspaper Aussie journalism is incrediable poor. BUT this story is based around a press release and is probably true. I reackon the next decade of the motor industry is going to be some of the most interesting times any of us have lived to date. The industry is suffering on a global scale and they all need to come up with great business plans and rally cries to get the support of their investors. Remember it was only a short time ago we had Porsche the richest car company in the world, based on balance sheet and look what happened to them!! Things will change very fast now and I think our model cars today will become beautiful classics.. How much did you say a 250F is worth now!! Well maybe not that much but treasured non the less... !:read1:

Not a great review. Surely most buyers of the QP would also consider the E63/RS6/M5?

Anyway, Autocar ran an article yesterday which mentions a new, smaller, priced model:

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/249034/

I presumed this to mean a coupe. My thoughts for Maserati are the GT up at the CL Class size/price point with time and the new car like the top E class Coupes.

Ithink a new smaller model would be good and if brings more money into Maserati to make even greater cars then thats good in my book....but a smaller car under the QP...Its still got to be 60k/70k which means you aren't going see one on every corner.

Little bit harsh OzzieAl I think. Im not sure that the SMH quite falls into some of the categories that operate here.

There are a couple of decent papers - the Australian for one.

as you say, no reason to doubt this report - given the press release.

Guys, this is true. It comes from the new Fiat 4-year plan recently announced by Marchionne.
