Indeed. The obvious thing is that the Merc C350 will never sell as everyone will buy the four pot diesel.

That's what puts me off the German stuff now. You can still get nice big petrol engines in many of the cars but 99% of them are four pot diesels. Then take into account that if you live outwith the South East you can go days without seeing a Maserati then it's thumbs up for us!

An interesting twist in this months Auto Italia courtesy of Alvise-Marco Seno...

"New Maseratis. Maserati's model range will soon be extended by the baby Quattroporte and the SUV, both designed by Pininfarina and based on alloy platforms made by Alcoa. The initial engine choice is likely to be between a 300HP V6 turbodiesel and a Pentastar V6 turbo. Later, Ferrari is expected to provide V8 and V12 engines, plus the FF's 4WD transmission with a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. With recent union disputes resolved, all new Maseratis will be produced at the former Bertone plants in Grugliasco."

All in all a more promising prospect. (well apart from the dreaded Desiesel)

Who knows Miles...lots of stuff put out to get reactions, to rile the opposition...or just to stimulate interest and get column inches...I believe none of it til I see the car in the showroom!

What will be will be....pretty sure no one will listen us unless we go in force and chain ourselves naked to the Maserati factory gates.

Haha, Call me naive, but I actually do think Maserati watch the forums, otherwise how did they know we were showing copyrighted graphics?

Don't doubt that it makes little or no difference, but Maserati ownership is a small community, so keeping an 'eye' on what that community is talking about is not beyond their means.

Perhaps...more like some jobs worth reported us.......but you can see their point, pity there wasn't some way around it. But then no doubt we'd loose our independence!
