I would say that one is a tad over priced , i see it at around £44K with that mileage , has it got the Maserati extended warranty , thats worth a £2k , being a 08 car its either out or just coming out of warranty , nice combo tho , needs an inspection before sale tho unless it has the maserati extended warranty , other warranties aren't worth the paper their written on , where massers are concerned

regards loz

As above...lovely car but too much.......I would buy from a main dealer for that money...you get the all important Maserati warrenty then for piece of mind...

Thank you I appreciate your comments, I did think the mileage was a bit high for this price.

I like the colour combination

I am learning quickly, and will keep looking.

Looking at Pistonheads there are some real nice GT's for sale at the moment and loads of choice...Sure there is a good one out there for you...

We have a family tradition at home to put a small present on the Christmas tree for Boxing Day.

How cool is this, a genuine Maserati USB pen.

I had a quick look just before Christmas and found another one in the same colour, 4K cheaper and only 16,700 miles.

Some of the cars are dropping quite a bit in price over the last three weeks.

GTS 4.7 just seem to be coming into my price range now, not many but a few.

So do I get a 4.7 with about 28/30,000 miles on the clock or a very low mileage 4.2 ?

Depends which gearbox you want. If you want the MC Shift then you need the 4.7 and if you want the auto then you need...well the 4.7.

It has been discussed before on the forum and most people feel that either 4.7s will command better residuals than the 4.2 but if you can get a really cheap 4.2 out of the main dealer network then that is worth a look

This 4.2 is now sold (asking £42k) so someone does not agree with me but to my mind come next month it should really be a £37k retail car from an indie:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3407995.htm

If my view is right then most early 4.2s should be dropping by £3-5k as we roll into 2012.
That exact car was sold privately not long ago, something like £37k IIRC. The ad is no longer on PH but the dealer ad certainly had one more owner on the log book!

bigbob. I have been looking at automatics 4.2

The car on piston head is very high mileage in comparison to what is around at that price

It certainly looks like 4.2 are coming down in price weakly at the moment, I have really noticed the difference in the last four weeks

Been looking around and I think I am going to stretch the budget to a 4.7 S 2009 (56/58k).

What extras should I look out for?
Do not want to buy one and then have everyone tell me what I should have got .:conf:

Sorry to be a pain

You are doing the right thing. Usual extas, I would go for the heated front seats. The Bose is not that good so dont bother with that, the MC kit is the one to have but no point having it on a black car as you dont see it. Anything else, its looks the business.

I always hated the Alcantara seat inserts, but mine is Rosso leather with the black and really like it now.

TBH, I would concerntate more on colour, mileage and condition.

Mine was a 58 Black with Rosso leather, heated seats and Bose, 7,900 miles, a years tax, service and the Trident warranty, for about the price you are suggesting, so I still feel I did very well.

If you can stretch to a 4.7 then do it as its a different sort of animal...You will not regret it...
