Hi all just bought my first Maserati its a bit of a project with a list of issues im hoping this forum can help with. Ive been a mechanic for over 40 years but never claim to know everything and these cars are very different to the norm. Ive been a fiat and alfa man all my life with all sorts owned including a 308 Ferrari briefly . Decided it was time to have something special.

Welcome Marino, congratulations on your new car. I have no doubt everyone here will be happy to help where they can. Can we have pictures? :)

I can also confirm that they are not really very tricky to work on, but you do need a black belt in swearing at inanimate objects!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Maserati ownership. My first was a 4200 Coupe too. Nice car that drained my wallet on a regular basis! Pics are a must here.

Welcome indeed and looks nice.
If your practical and can work on Fiat's and Alfa's you will be fine.

Another Coupe GT! Nice :)

Any issues with it that you know of? What sort of thing do you think you'll have to do to it?

Torque tube is rattling and although it works the clutch smells burnt. the interior is neglected but not unfixable and its had paintwork but a poor job so in the future ill get that rectified properly. Once its serviced and im happy ill use as is to see what else needs fixing then ill tackle the transmission issues. I bought it for roughly half what its worth fixed so i have room for manouvre . Oh 4 new tyres as the pirellis on it are 11 years old.
